I am beyond thrilled and honored to announce that my short story Dear Jacqueline was nominated by the fine folks over at Sum Journal for a Pushcart prize!
Champagne and New Year’s horns for everyone!
For those that may not be aware, the Pushcart Prize strives to honor the best writing appearing in literary magazines and small presses in the previous year. Editors can nominate up to six pieces to be considered, and my little short story was one of them!
Eek!
It will be a while until I hear anything definitive, but I can truly say that it is an honor to be nominated. There are a lot of lonely, late nights in this writing business, and a nomination such as the Pushcart means that someone out there (eh-hem, the FABULOUS editors over at Sum Journal – seriously, submit to them TODAY) think that I should keep doing what I’m doing.
So congratulations to all of my fellow nominees at Sum and elsewhere, from this year and all past years.
I am humbled and ecstatic to be numbered among you.
